The Lake View Public Library was located in the town's city hall for many years. As its collections increased it moved from one small room to a larger room in City Hall before being built on its present location in 1987 next to a medical clinic. The land belonged to Dr. and Mrs. C.E. Lierman and was donated to the town after the death of Dr. Lierman who had been the local medical doctor and county coroner for 30 plus years. He had also been the owner of the medical clinic which is now owned by Trimark Physicians Group. An interesting side note is that the present library director is the daughter of the late Dr. and Mrs. Lierman. This new library now has its own computer room, meeting room, newly renovated and enlarged childrens' area, lounge area and a much larger area for adult and young adult book shelves. It is nicely landscaped with shrubbery and trees and has handicap facilities.
This resource is supported by the Institute of Museum and Library Services under the provisions of the Library Services and Technology Act as administered by State Library of Iowa.
